Three arrested for foreclosure fraud case and grand theft

VENTURA, Caliþrnia – District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today the arrests of Canyon Lake resident Patrick Iturra (DOB 7 /27110) and Oxnard residents Roberto Sanchez (DOB l2l2Sl48) and Rosalva Sanchez (DOB 919153) for foreclosure consultant fraud and grand theft. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the District Attomey’s Real Estate Fraud Unit.

The defendants operated a fraudulent business under the name of Mercury Business Group.

They solicited homeowners with promises of saving their distressed homes from foreclosure. The defendants received thousands of dollars from the eleven victims but provided no actual assistance. All but one of the victims ultimately lost their homes to foreclosure. The victims’ combined monetary losses exceed $100,000.

All three defendants were arraigned yesterday, entered pleas of not guilty and were released on $20,000 bail. The defendants are scheduled to appear on June 13,2016, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court for an early disposition conference.
